Report: WWE & FOX Have ‘Moved On’ From CM Punk

It was reported last month that CM Punk was in Los Angeles with Renee Young to have a tryout for the new FS1 studio show, WWE Backstage.

Reports even emerged a few weeks ago suggesting FOX had actually offered Punk the role, and it was believed that he would be starting rather soon.

However, it appears as if those reports were inaccurate as it is believed that FOX has now “moved on” from Punk.

According to Fightful, WWE and FOX were impressed by Punk during his tryouts, and WWE left the decision in the hands of FOX. However, the network are believed to have now decided to pursue other targets.

“Punk’s tryout went well and he impressed the Backstage team, but it was left in the hands of higher ups at Fox that seemed like they’d “moved on” as recently as this week. Nothing is concrete in that regard, though.”

As the report states, nothing has been 100% confirmed as of right now, so stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com for the latest on the situation.

This comes after Triple H claimed that Vince McMahon would be open to the idea of CM Punk returning to the company. Punk has stated that he would return for a big-money deal.
