In his second match on Monday Night Raw, Angel Garza defeated fellow former Cruiserweight Champion Cedric Alexander. This came after an impressive debut the week prior where he went toe-to-toe with Rey Mysterio.
While it is great to see Angel Garza positioned as a big deal on Monday Night Raw, many fans are concerned about what the future holds for Cedric Alexander.
When Paul Heyman first took over Raw, it seemed like Cedric Alexander was going to be pushed as an upper midcarder on the red brand. However, following a feud with AJ Styles, WWE higher-ups clearly lost faith in Alexander.
Speaking on the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that WWE has no plans for Cedric Alexander on Raw right now:
“They got no plans for Cedric, you know he’s a talented guy, but his number’s just not being called.”
With the likes of Aleister Black, Angel Garza, Humberto Carrillo, Murphy, Ricochet and Andrade clearly Paul Heyman’s guys on Raw, it seems like there is just no room for Cedric Alexander right now.
If you were Vince McMahon or Paul Heyman, how would you book Cedric Alexander? Let us know in the comments.
