WWE fans are pretty accustomed to seeing wrestlers released, but it’s fair to say that when Braun Strowman was released on June 2 earlier this year, almost everyone was astonished.
Strowman has been pushed as one of WWE’s top guys for years, and his sheer size and deep, booming voice made him one of the most dominant wrestlers WWE has had for a very long time.
Since being released, Strowman has been very quiet across social media, and while he’s under WWE’s usual non-compete clause, we can’t expect to see him pop up anywhere else, but it seems that WWE may trying to win him back.
According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is interested in bringing Braun back in, particularly after AEW signed both Andrade and Aleister Black, and the new rumours regarding both Daniel Bryan and CM Punk.
WWE clearly has the money to keep Strowman, despite all the “budget cuts” excuses that were handed out to released wrestlers, so it will likely come down to whether or not Strowman wants to continue wrestling.
He has suggested in the past that he would like to do more body-building, but WWE may well accommodate that desire, especially if it makes Braun look even more intimidating.
