It was reported yesterday that another wave of cuts were likely to be made by WWE. A few big name producers were let go, including Gerald Brisco, Mike Rotunda, and Sarah Stock. However, it is now being reported that the number of people released by WWE is over 60.
PWInsider is currently reporting that of the over 60 staff members let go, a number of them had already been furloughed. Others had been working in departments of the company that have not been very active during the pandemic. Live Events was a department named as an example.
Additional details were not given regarding the cuts but it does not appear that talent were affected by the move.
The WWE roster was, of course, rocked by cuts back in April on Black Wednesday. Then dozens of wrestlers were released from the company, with many of them finding their way to promotions such as Impact Wrestling and AEW.
Among the most recent stars to turn up has been Rusev, who debuted this week on AEW Dynamite as Miro. Other stars have included the likes of Eric Young, EC3, Heath Slater, and Matt Cardona, among others.
