After losing to Kota Ibushi on night two of Wrestle Kingdom 15 this week, Jay White cut a great promo were he said that he was “done”. He then was pinned by Tomohiro Ishii the following day at New Year’s Dash.
Well, it seems like this may have been a way to write the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion out of NJPW, as Jay White’s contract is reportedly up this month. It’s unclear whether or not he’s going to re-sign.
The Super-J Cast, which is the NJPW podcast of the Voices of Wrestling Network is reporting Jay White’s deal with NJPW is up this month, and WWE is making a big play to sign him:
:Several sources have indicated there is some doubt whether Jay White will extend his NJPW contract, rumoured to be up at the end of the month. WWE are believed to be making a strong play for him and it’s 50/50 whether he stays or goes.”
