Report: WWE Might Change Roman Reigns’ Clash Of Champions Match

It was announced by WWE earlier this week that Roman Reigns would be taking on Rowan at the upcoming Clash of Champions pay-per-view.

This came as a surprise, as it has previously been reported that Roman Reigns would instead be going one-on-one with Daniel Bryan at the September 15th show.

On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer claimed that when he asked his WWE source if Roman will actually be taking on Rowan or Bryan at the show, the source said that only Vince McMahon really knows:

“So they announced Roman Reigns and Rowan, not Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan which was the match listed as of a week ago, but when I watched I actually asked. I was like ‘so is this is a red herring and it’ll be Daniel Bryan next week?’ and it was like, ‘the only person who knows is Vince.’ So, nobody knows.”

It was reported in July that Roman vs. Bryan was actually booked for the SummerSlam pay-per-view. However, plans changed as Vince McMahon felt the story needed more time to develop before the pair went one-on-one.

Perhaps, Vince McMahon still feels that the story needs more time before Roman and Bryan do battle, explaining why Reigns will instead be taking on Rowan.

If Reigns is going to face Bryan at the show, expect the change to be made on next week’s Smackdown Live from Madison Square Garden.
