Ever since the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic, WWE has been taping episodes of Raw, SmackDown, 205 Live and Main Event from the Performance Center. Episodes of NXT have instead been taped at Full Sail University.
Due to the fact that the shows are being taped at the PC, WWE has been unable to use the training facility to coach it’s up-and-coming wrestlers. However, it has been reported that training (sort of) has restarted this week.
WrestlingInc is reporting that smaller groups of the newer Performance Center recruits are restarting online classes where they review old matches with their coaches. This is part of the process of restarting the training for these wrestlers:
Wrestling Inc. has learned that WWE recruits are doing video class training with their coaches. They apparently are watching old matches and critiquing them.
The training sessions do not include all the recruits at once. They have been broken up throughout the day to get more people involved with different trainers.
From what I’ve been told, the classes are only for newer recruits. Talent that have been in the crowd at the WWE television tapings are not partaking in these classes.
When WrestleTalk’s Louis Dangoor interview NXT UK star Sam Gradwell last month, he confirmed that NXT UK stars have been doing a similar online teaching system for a number of weeks now, with the critiquing of old matches being a key part of that.
