Despite his anti-WWE Universe promo on Monday’s epsiode of Raw, Dave Meltzer is reporting that WWE might be planning on turning Samoa Joe babyface.
If it does happen, it would be the first time he has been a babyface since debuting on the main roster in January 2017, and a completely new version of Joe not seen before on Raw or SmackDown Live.
The seeds have been sewn for WWE to possibly fall back on if they need any ammunition to make a babyface turn not look completely stupid, as Joe showed real concern for Roman Reigns after he was nearly hit by a car two weeks ago.
Joe also demolished Sami Zayn in about 30 seconds, which again led fans to believe that he was possibly turning, but this theory was quickly squashed after the match when Joe went on a classic “you people” rant.
Of course, there’s no way Joe would be a Kofi Kingston style babyface who hugs the fans and throws baked goods, he’d be much more of a badass babyface who just beats up heels like Braun Strowman.
Joe is someone who has consistently sniffed championships and failed at the last hurdle, so perhaps a new perspective and a face turn can turn his fortunes around.
