WWE confirmed today that NXT is going to move to the USA Network next month. The new live show will run for two hours every week.
This was followed up by the news that NXT will be available on the WWE Network 24 hours later, leaving the usual Wednesday night slot free.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Radio said that while it is possible that 205 Live will move to Wednesday nights to fill the void, WWE might scrap the purple brand altogether.
“It may mean 205 Live goes to WWE Network although a lot of people think 205 Live is going to disappear and it probably should because talk about a failed experiment, that’s a failed experiment.”
It is currently not known what WWE is planning on doing with 205 Live. With NXT’s new TV show doubling in length, it was even reported that WWE could merge NXT and 205 Live together.
