Following on from the recent brand shake-up in the WWE Draft, a SmackDown star is reportedly in line to receive a big main event push.
WWE made the controversial decision to separate Big E from his New Day teammates Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods, with the former staying on SmackDown and the latter two heading to Raw.
According to Dave Meltzer, things will hopefully pay off as Big E is set for a huge push. Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer said:
“Big E — he’s going to get a huge push. He doesn’t have any tenure as a main event babyface, but he’s going to get that push.”
It’s been pretty clear that Big E is a name that WWE could be looking to elevate, but, as always, fans are cautious due to the company’s track records of fumbling the booking of potential stars.
So far for Big E in his current singles run, it’s been pretty smooth sailing, so hopefully that can continue and he can get to the main event spot that so many fans are eager to see him in.
