It was reported earlier this year in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter than WWE was in talks with Mexican promotion CMLL, but the nature of these talks was unknown.
This led to speculation that WWE has hoping to come to an agreement with the promotion over a possible talent exchange, however, according to Planeta Wrestling, this is not the case.
The report is that the talks were regarding WWE wanting to buy CMLL’s video library so that it could be placed onto the WWE Network.
It is thought that once WWE introduces its new tiered subscriptions, fans with premium subscriptions will be able to access content from promotions affiliated with WWE, such as OTT, Progress and wXw.
If these talks with CMLL are successful, you can expect them to be a part of the aforementioned package.
