After winning the SmackDown Tag Team Championships two days after WrestleMania 35 in Apri, The Hardy Boyz were forced to vacate the titles after it was revealed that Jeff was dealing with an injury.
During his time away from the ring, the former WWE Champion has been arrested twice for a DUI. However, WWE reportedly won’t fire him because they fear he’ll move to AEW.
While they won’t fire Hardy, WWE has reportedly tried to convince Jeff to seek professional help. According to PWInsider, WWE has urged the wrestling icon to get some serious help:
“Jeff Hardy’s deal is that it’s frozen cause he’s hurt. So, they’ve tacked time on so why would they fire him when they can hold him even longer? As we know Jeff is in the middle of another legal quandary. I can tell you from a source very close to the situation that WWE strongly implored Jeff to address his health and we’re told that Jeff is doing that and really aggressively dove right into it. So, you can’t fire the guy when he’s doing what you ask him to do. We’ll see what happens when he goes to court.”
As someone who has always been a big fan of Jeff Hardy, I hope he is finally taking his health issues seriously and getting the help he needs. Hopefully, we will see him in a WWE ring before too long.
