Last night, WWE invaded Winnipeg for what was a very decent episode of Raw. It was the final episode of main roster TV before Thursday’s Super ShowDown pay-per-view.
The crowd was very hot for the whole show, and this is likely because, to their credit, WWE has been putting on some fantastic Raw shows for the majority of 2020.
Despite the crowd being invested into the show, WWE was cautious during the day yesterday that some fans of AEW star Chris Jericho may have hijacked the TV taping.
Speaking on the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer had the following to say regarding WWE’s concerns over the crowd last night:
“There is some concern from WWE about chants or posters for Chris Jericho at tonights’ show.”
For those who aren’t aware, former WWE Champion and current AEW star Chris Jericho is from Winnipeg in Canada, and there were fears that his hometown crowd might have hijacked last night’s show.
The crowd, to their credit, were on their best behaviour and decided to chant for those on the show rather than wrestlers who work for a rival promotion.
