According to reports, WWE’s writing team have undergone some large changes in the last few weeks.
FW4Online is reporting that Ryan Ward has left his position as lead writer of Smackdown Live. Pro Wrestling Sheet has added that Ward is taking some time away from the company due to ‘unspecified reasons’.
This comes after it was reported that Ward was possibly very unhappy with Vince McMahon. In recent months Vince has allegedly ripped up the entire Smackdown script and rewritten the show himself on numerous occasions.
Ward will be replaced by current Raw writer Ed Kosky, whereas former 205 Live lead writer Jonathan Baeckstrom will be moving over to Raw with Paul Heyman.
This comes after it was reported that Smackdown’s former lead writer Steve Guerreri was released by WWE in July. The changes are believed to have been made ahead of Smackdown’s move to FOX in October.
