A retired WWE star is now working at the WWE Performance Center.
As previously reported, Matt Bloom announced that former WWE star Oney Lorcan, also known as Biff Busick and real name Christopher Girard, had made the decision to retire from in-ring competition.
Fightful Select (subscription required) provided an update, confirming that Lorcan had started to work at the WWE Performance Center as a coach.
The report also confirmed that Oney Lorcan helped produce women’s matches on the NXT Vengeance Day show.
Lorcan was released from WWE in November 2021 and took several bookings on the independent wrestling scene. He recently worked with Progress Wrestling last summer and made several appearances for Game Changer Wrestling throughout 2022.
His former tag partner Danny Burch (real name Martin Stone) returned to the ring for independent promotion CCW in January, after almost 17 months out of action,.
Lorcan previously posted on Twitter a farewell of sorts after reflecting on 2022, saying:
In 2022, I stepped away from performing in the ring. I’m not sure if I’ve had my last match, but if I have, I had a blast. Thank you to anyone I got to share a ring with.
Thank you to all the fans. I’m really looking forward to working with @WWENXT in 2023.
Happy New Year!!!
We will have further updates on Oney Lorcan’s status in wrestling and with WWE when they become available.
