Revealed: How Much WWE Pays Its Biggest Stars

Thanks to the likes of WWE and AEW, pro-wrestlers are now able to become rather rich if they get snapped up by one of the big promotions.

It is now not uncommon for stars to make several million dollars in a year, particularly if your name is Brock Lesnar or Roman Reigns. Lesnar famously made $500,000 per match in 2018.

But what about the rest of WWE’s biggest stars? Well, thanks to competition from AEW, it looks as though Vince is digging deep into his pockets to secure the signatures of his top guys and girls.

It was reported in July that Braun Strowman has signed a new four-year deal, and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that the deal was worth $1.2million a year.

AJ Styles also signed a new deal this year, and Dave Meltzer writes that his deal was worth significantly more than $1million a year.

This is interesting, as it was previously thought that top stars were guaranteed $1million, but that they would rarely exceed this. It seems the threat of AEW is allowing stars to be a bit more daring with their negotiation skills.

From the Observer:

The key to that number is there are exceptions, but generally, the top downside number WWE offers is $1 million. Obviously Styles signed for significantly more than that when his deal was due because of AEW. There are others who just because they knew how to negotiate, the company knew they could go elsewhere and make money, and the company feels were valuable that have guarantees above the $1 million threshold.

Whether the $1million figure is the same for its female stars isn’t clear, particularly as the only female star to make more than $1million in 2018 was Ronda Rousey. People like Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville made less than $100,000, according to reports.
