Revealed: Why The Fiend Isn’t Facing Daniel Bryan At TLC

After Daniel Bryan found himself being pulled into the ring by The Fiend and subsequently shaved, it seemed certain that he and The Fiend would be having a Survivor Series rematch at this weekend’s TLC show.

However, as we saw on this past week’s SmackDown, The Fiend will instead be taking on Bryan’s long-time Rival The Miz, after Bray Wyatt threatened Miz’s family and appeared as the red-cardigan wearing Wyatt for the first time ever outside of the Firefly Fun House.

According to Dave Meltzer, the reason for delaying Bryan vs. Fiend II is all down to Bryan, who actively pushed for a delay in the rematch so as not to rush the story.

“Originally it was gonna be Bray Wyatt and Daniel Bryan — Daniel Bryan himself was actually pushing to delay it. He thought this pay-per-view was too soon and he I guess is pretty hands-on with his story which if I was him I would be too because I wouldn’t want these people messing with my stories. So it’s gonna be The Miz.”

Bryan is one of WWE’s most gifted in-ring performers, but he is also renowned for his ability to tell stories inside and outside of the ring, and when you’re working with Daniel Bryan and Bray Wyatt in the same story, you better just let them get on with it and create magic.
