Rey Fenix Replaced In AEW Casino Ladder Match

All Elite Wrestling has announced that Rey Fenix will be unable to compete at Double or Nothing. This means he has been removed from the Casino Ladder Match. Joey Janela will be taking his place.

Fenix took an insane bump on Dynamite this week, landing flat on his back on the ground from roughly 12-14 feet in the air. He was noticeably hurt but was able to walk to the back under his own power.

AEW’s own tweet announcing the change says that Fenix will likely not miss much time. He is likely very sore and needs time to recuperate. They also made sure to note that there will still be a mystery ninth entrant in the match. There had previously been eight announced participants and Janela is merely replacing Fenix and not taking the mystery spot.

Janela now joins Darby Allin, Colt Cabana, Orange Cassidy, Scorpio Sky, Kip Sabian, Frankie Kazarian, and Luchasaurus as the announced participants. There is still no official word on who the ninth entrant will be. We did create a list of possible people it could be, although two of them are now booked for the show.
