A major update on former AEW star Rey Fenix signing with WWE following his release from AEW earlier this month.
Last year, it was reported that former AEW World Tag Team Champions Rey Fenix and Penta El Zero Miedo would be leaving the company, with them expected to join WWE.
Injury time was added to both men’s contracts, with Penta signing with WWE at the beginning of the year after becoming a free agent, while Fenix still had many months remaining on his deal.
However, Fenix was released from his AEW contract earlier this month, with him also expected to join WWE soon, with him reportedly expected to start with the company following the ongoing European tour.
In a major update on Fenix’s status, a vignette aired on tonight’s WWE SmackDown show in Barcelona, Spain, which seemingly teased the arrival of the former AEW International Champion.
Interestingly, the vignette airing on SmackDown implies that Fenix will be a part of the SmackDown roster following his debut, which would be separate from his brother Penta, who is currently on Raw.
