Rey Fenix has provided his latest comments regarding a potential reunion of the Lucha Brothers in WWE with his brother Penta.
Fenix and Penta were originally planned to debut in WWE together as a tag team, but due to AEW adding injury time onto their contracts, they ended up joining WWE separately.
A year later, they have still set to reunite, with Penta working on Raw where he is now the Intercontinental Champion, and Fenix working on SmackDown.
They were planned for a reunion in AAA for a match against against Dominik Mysterio and El Grande Americano at the end of 2025, but an injury to Penta led to Fenix teaming with Rey Mysterio instead.
Now, in an interview with RRBG Inc, Fenix has encouraged fans to be patient regarding a potential reunion. He said:
“I see it this way. It’s not bad. Obviously I miss fighting with my brother, but it’s a good opportunity to show who we are individually.
“I’ve worked with Je’Von Evans, I’ve worked with Andrade when he was there, I’m working with Sami Zayn, I’ve worked with Rey (Mysterio) at recent AAA events. I think it’s a good opportunity for us as wrestlers and for the public to see something different.
“And believe me, they know that people are waiting for the Lucha Brothers, and the Lucha Brothers are waiting for the moment.
“But something that wrestling and this sport have taught me is patience. It’s going to be the right moment that the Lucha Brothers deserve.
“It’s not that we don’t deserve it and you don’t deserve to see the Lucha Brothers today, but I know that when the moment gets there is the right moment, and it’s going to be the right moment.
“Let’s not forget that it’s a company that has been stable for many years, that has handled wrestling and entertainment in the best way. It’s the best company and the number one in the world, so I think we need to trust in what we’re doing, and enjoy what we’re doing today.
“Something that wrestling has taught me is patience. As humans, we want things to happen as fast as possible, but it’s going to be in the right moment, when it’s the right moment, and we’re going to take advantage of it and enjoy it in the best way.”
