WWE/AEW
There has been an update on Rey Fenix’s expected arrival in WWE following his release from AEW earlier this week.
On Monday, March 3 it was reported that Rey Fenix had officially departed AEW following seven months of inaction in the company.
With his brother Penta already making the move from AEW to WWE, it was unsurprisingly reported soon after that Fenix was expected to be WWE bound “sooner rather than later”.
Now a follow up on Fenix’s potential move to WWE has emerged courtesy of Fightful Select, who have revealed that the former AEW World Tag Team and Trios Champion is expected to have his medicals with WWE soon.
Merchandise has also been brainstormed for Fenix’s arrival, with it being noted that if Fenix hasn’t already signed with WWE then it will be “coming soon” barring any unforeseen circumstances.
Both Fenix and Penta were reportedly initially planned to sign with WWE at the same time following the expiry of their AEW contracts late last year, however, this ultimately wouldn’t be the case as Fenix instead saw injury time added onto his contract instead.
Penta debuted on WWE TV on the January 13 episode of Raw and has since gone unbeaten in singles competition, as well as putting in an ironman performance in the 2025 Royal Rumble.
We will provide updates on Fenix’s move to WWE as more information becomes available.
