Rey Mysterio recently signed a new contract to stay with WWE, and the length of the deal has been revealed in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
The WON reports that Mysterio’s new deal is believed to be for three years, meaning it will come to an end in 2023. As you can tell, I passed math class.
Rey Mysterio first signed to return in September 2018, and had been working without a contract recently to continue his program with Seth Rollins.
Both WWE and AEW made offers for Mysterio, but he opted to remain with Vince McMahon’s company.
Mysterio’s son Dominik has a street fight match against Seth Rollins on Sunday at SummerSlam, and it is believed Rey will be in Dominik’s corner to even the odds as Rollins will have Murphy in his.
As we covered yesterday, the Mysterios have spoken about how Rey is truly going to pass the torch to his son, which will likely mean him getting a new name and mask.
