WWE has confirmed that Rey Mysterio will make his return to the company at SmackDown 1000 on October 16.
The masked legend made headlines by re-signing with WWE three weeks ago, and now will make his official return, although in what capacity it is unknown.
WWE tweeted a short while ago to break the news, in the latest sign that they’ve given up on trying to give people surprises.

He joins legends such as Ric Flair, Batista and Teddy Long in a stellar line-up, and it would suggest that he will be a part of the blue brand going forward.
Mysterio’s last in-ring appearance for WWE was in the 2018 Royal Rumble when he entered at number 27 to a huge crowd reaction. This is said to have increased WWE’s interest in bringing him back to the company.
So, just nine short days to wait until we see what’s in store for Rey and the next two years.
