An update on Rey Mysterio’s WWE injury he suffered that kept him from competing at WWE WrestleMania 41 last month.
Rey Mysterio was scheduled for a singles match against newcomer El Grande Americano (Chad Gable) at WWE WrestleMania 41 on April 19, but the match ultimately didn’t end up happening.
In a six-man tag team match on SmackDown the night before, Rey teamed with Dragon Lee and Rey Fenix against Chad Gable and the Creed Brothers, in which Mysterio suffered an unfortunate injury that kept him out of WrestleMania, with Rey Fenix taking his spot against El Grande Americano.
Rey suffered a torn adductor muscle in the match, with him recent announcing that he was set to undergo surgery in Birmingham, Alabama.
In an update on Rey’s injury from PWInsider Elite (subscription required), Rey’s surgery earlier this week was successful, with PWInsider being told that Rey is already back home in California.
Fenix ended up coming up short in his WrestleMania debut against El Grande Americano.
We wish Rey a full and complete recovery from his injury.
