Rey Mysterio has been out of action since April due to injury and is scheduled to make an imminent return to the WWE ring.
Mysterio has been sidelined since April 18, suffering a torn groin injury on the SmackDown before WrestleMania 41 that saw him replaced by Rey Fenix in his scheduled match with El Grande Americano during Night One of the event.
Having undergone surgery for the injury, Mysterio would also reveal that he suffered a burst eardrum during the same SmackDown show.
With Mysterio making an appearance at WWE Worlds Collide and featuring on the poster for July’s Supershow Mexico events, we now know when the former WWE Champion is actually scheduled to return to the ring.
Per Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Rey Mysterio’s WWE return is currently scheduled for August.
He last wrestled on the April 18 SmackDown episode, teaming with Dragon Lee and Rey Fenix against Brutus Creed, Chad Gable & Julius Creed.
Mysterio’s injury on this show led to him being pulled from WrestleMania 41 and Rey Fenix replacing him in his match against El Grande Americano.
WrestleTalk will provide further details of plans for Rey Mysterio as they emerge.
