Rhea Ripley Explains Why It Took So Long To Debut On The Main Roster

Rhea Ripley won the Raw Women’s Championship in a dominant display over former Champion Asuka at WrestleMania 37.

Unfortunately it looks like her reign might be short-lived, because Charlotte Flair return on Monday’s Raw and beat everyone up.

One of the unusual things about Rhea’s main roster debut was how long it took to happen. She was “heading to Raw” for several weeks before she finally made an appearance, and according to reports at the time, her match with Asuka was “Plan D”.

Ripley appeared on WWE’s The Bump to discuss her debut, and why it took so long to happen.

“Obviously I wanted to win the Royal Rumble but I’m very happy for Bianca that she got that spotlight that she really does deserve but that month after that, I was sort of just like I was sitting there at RAW in catering trying to like figure out what I’m going to do. Trying to pick my timing well to pretty much debut. So that’s what I had been doing that month, I was just sort of trying to find the right time to show the world exactly who I am.”

Also known as “creative couldn’t think of anything to do with me.”

It seems that the next chapter in her title reign will be a Triple Threat match with Charlotte Flair and Asuka at WWE Backlash on May 16.
