Rhea Ripley Explains Finding Out About WWE Royal Rumble 2023 Win WWE

Rhea Ripley has explained how close to the Royal Rumble 2023 she found out she was booked to enter at number one and eventually win.

Rhea Ripley opens up about when she found out that she wouldn’t just be winning the Royal Rumble 2023, she would be doing so from entering at number one!

In a new conversation with Mark Andrews for My Love Letter to Wrestling WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley opened up about when she found out she needed to be ready to go bell to bell!

Potentially indicative of the overall unpredictable nature of being a WWE star, Rhea Ripley has explained getting a pretty urgent piece of information about the Royal Rumble, relatively close to the show.

Ripley said:

“I want to say two nights before. I got a message, ‘How is your cardio?’ What do you mean how is my cardio? I’ve been a manager the last few months. I’m happy to do 20 minutes on the elliptical, but what are we talking about here?

“When they finally told me, I was like, ‘You’re joking, right?’ I think I could do it because adrenaline is a powerful thing, but at the same time I was like, ‘I don’t know if I’m going to be able to do it,'”

However do it she did, entering at number one in the Royal Rumble 2023 with Liv Morgan as number two to start out the match.

Ripley went on to outlast every other Women’s star in the match, including surprise entrants like Nia Jax, Michelle McCool and the returning Chelsea Green.

Rhea went on to have a huge WWE Women’s Championship match against Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 39 by which she became the WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion.

Since, Rhea has been on a hot streak at premium live events, successfully defending her title against Zelina Vega at Backlash in Puerto Rico and Natalya at WWE Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia.
