While speaking with Kenny McIntosh of Inside The Ropes, two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair noted that he is of the belief that The Undertaker will wrestle again, despite seemingly announcing his retirement earlier this year.
The Undertaker stated that he’d likely wrestled his final match at the end of the Last Ride documentary series. However, he did leave the door open to a return if Vince McMahon really needed him back:
“I thought The Last Ride was fabulous—there’s not a finer man that has ever been in our business and I’m looking at that from every possible aspect. But I think he will be back. I think he wants it and I think the fans deserve to see him go out in front of 80 or 90,000 people live. I think he needs to wrestle again once we get this COVID under control and I would think it will be at ‘Mania.
“If things work out and the company elects to go to LA if that’s the plan now—which I’m pretty sure it is but that could have changed since I talked to them last—but if WrestleMania 37 is in Los Angeles and they put 80 or 90,000 in that facility, I think he deserves it. I thought the match was great with AJ, but I could see him and AJ going at it again inside the ring. And I’m sure AJ would jump off the top of a building to get back in the ring with him.”
This comes after reliable Twitter source WrestleVotes reported yesterday that The Undertaker is expected to make an appearance at Survivor Series this year, a show that is slated to celebrate his thirty-year career.
While the report does say that The Undertaker will be appearing on the show, it stated that as of right now, the plan is not to have “The Deadman” actually wrestle a match. However, with all things in WWE and wrestling, that can always change.
The news was actually discussed on last night’s debut episode of Wrestling Daily, where Louis Dangoor and Alex McCarthy both gave their verdicts on whether or not they think we’ll see The Undertaker step inside the ring again.
How about you, do you think we’re going to see The Undertaker step inside the ring and wrestle again? Let us know in the comments.
