Ric Flair has taken to social media to address his WWE release, giving his thoughts on the company following his departure.
Yesterday (August 2), it was reported that Ric Flair had been released by WWE. This has since been confirmed by WWE, however the company didn’t Flair luck on his “future endeavors”.
Flair has taken to Twitter to note that there no animosity between himself and WWE. Stating that they had different visions for his future, Flair tweeted:
“I am officially able to respond to all the press related to my requested release from WWE, which they have given me. I want to make it really clear with everyone that I’m not upset with WWE at all. They solely are responsible for putting me in the position of life that I’m in right now, where I’m seen in the brightest light ever. We have a different vision for my future. I wish them nothing but continued success! Thank you for everything! Nothing but respect!”
It was previously reported that Flair was unhappy with certain booking decisions, and his release was WWE ChairmanVince McMahon’s decision, not his own.
It has been speculated that Flair will head over to AEW in some capacity, as he is on good terms with AEW President Tony Khan. Sting, one of Flair’s most notable rivals, currently with AEW, reacted to Flair’s WWE release on Twitter.
