WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has been diagnosed with skin cancer, sharing the news in a newly released interview.
Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE, the 16-time world champion revealed that his skin cancer diagnosis was his second in three years, and will begin treatment next week.
Flair said:
“It’s the second time in three years that I’ve been dealing with skin cancer, I will be undergoing treatment next week.”
Flair’s announcement comes a month after he took to Twitter to shut down rumors regarding a potential cancer diagnosis, with The Nature Boy thanking fans for their concern but stating that they were “misled”.
Flair admitted to PEOPLE that he initially wanted to keep his diagnosis secret until he was ready to announce it publicly, but added that he appreciates the concern.
The WWE Hall of Famer has dealt with several health issues in recent years, most notably in 2017 when he suffered kidney failure and close to congestive heart failure as a result of alcohol abuse.
We at WrestleTalk wish Flair a healthy and full recovery and will provide further updates on his health as news becomes available.
