Way before Becky Lynch starting calling her ‘The Man’, two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair possessed that nickname.
With that in mind, PWInsider is reporting that Ric Flair has filed to trademark “The Man”. The trademark is for “wrestling and merchandise purposes”
Ric Flair, whose daughter is current Smackdown star Charlotte, still has a good relationship with WWE, so it is surprising he would file for the aforementioned trademark.
It seems like with Lynch as a top seller of WWE merchandise, Flair has seen the opportunity to cash-in on some royalty money on “The Man” t-shirts.
Lynch has seemingly commented on the news on Twitter. The current Raw Women’s Champion simply said ‘I am The Man’.
She is clearly unphased by Flair’s activity.

Reports suggested that the trademark had not yet been approved. However, Ric Flair has seemingly stated otherwise.
Flair said “to be the man, you gotta beat the man”. He accompanied this with “#alreadytrademarked”, suggesting that this has now been approved.
