Ric Flair Begs For One Last Match One More Time

Ric Flair Begs For One Last Match One More Time Jim Crockett Promotions

Ric Flair’s legendary career came to an end with the Ric Flair’s Last Match on July 21 2022, but the WWE Hall of Famer wants a redo.

Flair initially retired from in-ring action at WrestleMania 24 in 2008, but would later sign with TNA and retire from wrestling in 2011, having brought an end to his feud with Sting.

Flair would reflect on his decision to return to wrestling after his much-lauded match against Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 24, citing money issues as his reason for heading to TNA and continuing to wrestle.

Now, the Nature Boy has turned his attention to his last Last Match and made an impassioned plea on the To Be The Man podcast (subscription required), saying:

“I’m begging to do it again.

“I’m begging because I’ve told 100 people, ‘How do I forget to drink water all day long?’ That’s all that happened to me. You saw me. I drank five beers right after.”

Flair would then go on to explore the issues of the match itself, explaining:

“I can think of a lot of things I’ve screwed up and matches and, you know, things you would change.

“I just know that could’ve been golden. You know, I just happened to be dehydrated.

“I don’t know how I could’ve made that mistake because you know how much work I put in with Lethal.

“We had everything figured out, I mean, and we had so much more to do. God, it would have been great.”

In a media call before the event, Conrad Thompson had encouraged fans to approach the match from Flair’s angle saying that the two-time WWE Hall of Famer” is in a better place mentally, emotionally, physically, financially, than I’ve ever known him right now.

As previously reported, the match, in which Flair teamed with Andrade El Idolo to take on Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal, is available to watch on Impact Plus.
