Ric Flair has named Roman Reigns as his dream WWE opponent, also sharing praise for Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton and Shawn Michaels.

With Ric Flair’s last match taking place in July 2022, the WWE Hall of Famer was recently asked to matchmake a fantasy main event, with Roman Reigns being the star he’d like to face.

Speaking on Yahoo Sports Daily, Flair explained why Roman Reign is his dream opponent, praising both Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton, saying:

“Me and Roman Reigns. Me, being the bad guy.

“Roman is the handsomest son of a bitch alive, even when he’s trying to be bad. You can’t be that good-looking.

“He’s got a great physique. He brings charisma, style, class. As does Cody (Rhodes).

“I think the best wrestler there is Randy Orton, still. Randy has just got a unique gift. He carries himself well. He came back from a bad injury, and he looked better than ever, I tell ya.”

The WWE Hall of Famer has previously suggested that Randy Orton could be used better in WWE.

Flair would also praise Shawn Michaels, the star who defeated him back at WrestleMania 24 in 2008, seeing the Four Horsemen member bow out on his WWE career, saying:

“No matter whatever they want to think or say or, you know, think about me, who knows what’s going on now, that is the greatest retirement I’ve ever been part of or witnessed in my life.

“I’ve been to Cooperstown. I’ve been to Canton. That was the greatest weekend of my life, and Shawn Michaels gave, at 59 years old, the match of a lifetime.

“He’s the greatest wrestler of all time. To this day, he is, he’s just that damned good. There’s nobody in the company right now as good as him.”

One More Match?

With an in-ring career that has spanned over five decades, and debuting in 1972, Ric Flair is no stranger to the concept of retirement.

At the appropriately named Ric Flair’s Last Match event in July 2022, the WWE Hall of Famer teamed with Andrade El Idolo in a victory over Jay Lethal & Jeff Jarrett.

He has since teased that he has one more match left in him, family members including Charlotte Flair have dismissed the idea as “absolutely not” happening.

At 77 years of age, Flair would be far from the oldest star to step back into the ring, with the likes of Mae Young competing in WWE at the age of 87 back in 2010, albeit in a match on Raw that lasted less than one minute.

Whether Ric Flair is likely to step into the ring again remains to be seen, although Reigns has addressed his own retirement and what’s left to accomplish.
