Ric Flair Thinks He Inspired WWE Hall Of Famer With His Last Match WWE

Ric Flair thinks that this WWE Hall of Famer saw his last match and felt they could do better.

During Starrcast V weekend in Nashville, Ric Flair wrestled for the first time since 2011 in what was billed as his “Last Match”. At the event, Flair teamed with his son-in-law Andrade El Idolo to defeat Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett.

On September 15, it was announced that Ricky Steamboat would be returning to the squared circle on November 27 for Big Time Wrestling.

During the latest episode of his To Be The Man podcast, Flair commented on his current plans to not return to the ring and on Steamboat’s upcoming return bout.

He said:

“None. When I say that it inspires me to want to do it again [they think I’m doing it]. I’ll stand by this, I wish I hadn’t said it was my last match. I don’t want to disappoint a bunch of fans by doing it again but I got myself in good shape and made one drastic mistake by not hydrating. I feel great. I feel like as long as you’re healthy and you want to do it than you should do what you want to do when you get to my age. I feel like we limit ourselves to what people think we should be doing sometimes as opposed to what we’re doing.”

“I think maybe me wrestling in Nashville inspired Ricky to do it. He said, ‘What the hell, I can do that.’ And probably better. And he probably will. He’ll look better. He always has and always will,”

Steamboat will team with Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler of FTR to face Arn Anderson’s new Four Horsemen team of Jay Lethal, Brock Anderson and a mystery partner at the Big Time Wrestling event on November 27.

As previously mentioned, Ric Flair has expressed his feelings of wanting to return for one more match following his “Last Match”.
