Ric Flair’s Heart Surgery Delayed Due To Complications

Ric Flair’s Heart Surgery Delayed Due To Complications

The wrestling world was extremely concerned yesterday after TMZ reported that WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair had been rushed to hospital in Atlanta following a “medical emergency”.

However, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful confirmed on Twitter after speaking to Ric Flair’s son-in-law Conrad Thompson, that the wrestling legend is only in the hospital for a planned procedure. He also revealed that his situation isn’t “as grave or serious” as TMZ made it out to be.

Ric Flair’s wife, Wendy Barlow, provided TMZ Sport with the following update on her husband last night and said he is expected to make a full recovery:

“Due to ongoing health complications, Ric was taken to the hospital and is expected to undergo a procedure tomorrow morning, after which he expects to fully recover”.

However, Barlow took to her Instagram today to reveal that due to some complications, Flair would not be having his heart procedure today. The surgery was delayed until Monday once said complications had been addressed.

The news that Flair’s procedure was planned and not an emergency is good news, with Conrad Thompson telling Sean Ross Sapp that the 16-time world champion will still be appearing at Starrcast II over Double or Nothing weekend.

WrestleTalk will provide more information on Ric Flair’s ongoing situation if and when it becomes available.
