
Former WWE star Ricardo Rodriguez took to Twitter today to open up about his history of alcohol abuse.
Rodriguez revealed that a year ago he checked himself into a rehab center to deal with the issues he was facing. He noted that his journey wasn’t easy but he is currently one year sober. Here is the tweet:
After dealing with alcohol abuse problem for several years, on May 3rd 2020 I finally went and got myself checked in to a rehab center. I needed to change for many reasons. Today I got the alert that I completed my #YearOne of #Sobriety . Wasnt easy at all but one day at a time. pic.twitter.com/QLEG6n1L85

Ricardo Rodriguez made his WWE debut in 2010 as the special ring announcer of Alberto Del Rio. Their partnership lasted three years before they went their separate ways. Rodriguez joined the Spanish announce team afterward as well.
He was trained as a wrestler and worked sporadic matches for WWE, usually as a comedy character. He has continued to work matches since leaving WWE with his last match occurring in 2017.
