Those who tuned into IMPACT Wrestling’s sixteenth anniversary of Slammiversary will have noticed an omission to the advertised card during the International Fatal 4-Way Match. As reported by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter prior to the event, Rich Swann was withdrawn at the last minute due to a lingering concussion.

On Thursday evening, while competing on the MLW Battle Riot show in New York City, the former 205 Live member was teaming with ACH against Teddy Hart and Davey Boy Smith Jr. – who is soon to be seen as British Bulldog Jr. on ITV World of Sports. During this fracas, Swann clouted his head on the guardrail and was hospitalized.
The diagnosis was a concussion, it could have been a lot worse, and though the athlete was released from the hospital the same night, his participation in the extravaganza was in doubt. As a last minute replacement, Swann was swapped out with Petey Williams.
With several IMPACT Wrestling tapings due to happen this coming week, it is unknown whether he will be cleared in time to compete.
