Ricky Starks AEW Contract Expiry Update

Ricky Starks AEW Contract Expiry Update AEW

Last appearing for the company in March, there has now been a new update on Ricky Starks AEW contract status.

Starks has confirmed that he is healthy and described his absence from AEW as a “mindf**k” during a recent appearance on Insight with Chris Van Vliet.

He has also discussed the possibility of a move to WWE in the future while also commenting on his previous cameo for the company.

During a recent appearance in GCW, Starks addressed his absence from AEW, saying:

“One thing about me, passion runs through my blood, and I will be damned if I sit at home and get frozen out, I’ll be damned if I sit at home and let my career dwindle. I am 34 years old, I am healthy, I am god damn good looking, and most importantly I am a generational superstar!”

With it being unclear as to AEW’s plans for Starks, Fightful Select has provided an update on his contract.

According to their sources, Starks had an option year in his existing deal in the spring of 2024 which AEW picked up.

The result of this is that Starks will remain under AEW contract until either “spring or summer of 2025.”

It was also noted that, had the option not been picked up, Starks was hoping to become a free agent, testing the open pro-wrestling market.

Fightful Select stated that, at the time of writing, they had not learned of any plans for Starks in AEW.

He hasn’t been “factored into pitches or creative” despite remaining under contract with AEW.

It was confirmed that Starks isn’t injured and has been cleared to compete although he hasn’t been at AEW shows outside of Full Gear where his presence was “welcomed.”

WrestleTalk will provide further details of Ricky Starks in AEW as they emerge.
