Ricky Starks AEW Contract Status Update

Ricky Starks AEW Contract Status Update AEW

Former AEW World Tag Team Champion Ricky Starks has provided an update on his contract status amid his absence from television.

Starks’ AEW future has long been a question asked by wrestling fans, with Starks currently absent from AEW television, last competing in an AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament Quarter Final against Top Flight on Collision back in March.

Last month, Starks made a rare independent appearance at a Glory Pro Wrestling event, setting up a match with Kody Lane at the upcoming WrestlePocalypse event on November 24.

The match will be Starks’ first match in six months, with him last wrestling QT Marshall at BTW Welcome To Paradise on May 31.

Speaking to Claibs Online, Starks confirmed that he was still under contract to AEW after almost 8 months off television.

He said:

“Correct, yes. Yes, I am.”

Starks then detailed his upcoming appearance for Glory Pro, noting that he opted to work with Kody Lane due to the pair’s history, and him not wanting to be stuck at home for too much longer.

He added:

“Well, you know, I can’t be stuck at home for too much longer, I go stir crazy. I saw an opportunity with Kody Lane to come out and challenge for the title of course. I thought it was even a better idea because I used to actually live in St. Louis, I used to live in Melville of all places.

“So I thought it was a good way to make a return and also too, I’ve known Kody for quite a bit, he used to train here in Texas. I said, ‘Well, why not, why not just come back and test the grit against somebody that I’m very much familiar with.’”
