Ricky Starks was on the receiving end of a nasty thumbtack spot on AEW Dynamite last night. The main event saw Starks and Brian Cage take on Jon Moxley and Darby Allin in a Tornado Tag match. As a result of the altered rules, weapons were allowed, much to Starks’ dismay.
The finish saw Allin grab his thumbtack-covered skateboard and plant it on Starks’ back. This was not done cleanly and the tacks sliced Starks’ back open. Needless to say, this move secured the win for the team of Allin and Moxley. Now, we have been shown the aftermath.
Both grateful and mad at @realbrittbaker for capturing this footage of @starkmanjones' back ? Anyone else feeling a little woozy? pic.twitter.com/OpMcajFG5w

All Elite Wrestling on TNT posted a video on Twitter of professionals tending to Starks’ back. He made sure to note he was okay because his face wasn’t injured. They then showed the damage done to his back and it looks like he will be sleeping on his stomach for a few days.
This is not the first time Darby Allin has done the spot in All Elite Wrestling. He also pulled off the move at All Out last year against Joey Janela and Jimmy Havoc.
