
A change made to Ricky Starks’ WWE debut plans has been revealed, amid speculation about his next move after joining the company.
Starks made his surprise debut on the February 11 NXT show, appearing in the crowd just one day after news of his AEW departure broke.
With rumors swirling about what could be next for the ex-AEW star, a new report has indicated that WWE originally had plans for him to make his debut at a different event.
Per Dave Meltzer on in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there were tentative plans for Ricky Starks to make his debut at a ‘major’ NXT event later this year.
Meltzer wrote:
“Even before his release, WWE had plans for Starks to debut in NXT at a major event later this year, but sped up the process as soon as he was available.”
The next WWE special will be Vengeance Day, which takes place this Saturday (February 15).
This is ahead of the NXT Roadblock TV special on March 11, and the Stand & Deliver PLE on April 19.
Stand & Deliver will take place on the same day at WrestleMania 41 Saturday.
