WWE held a two-night 2o2o Draft which spanned over both Raw and SmackDown. Around 30 superstars ended up trading brands when the dust settled.
One superstar who did not switch nights was none other than The One and Only Ricochet. His nickname is now extremely fitting since he seems to be the only babyface left on Raw who stood tall to The Hurt Business.
Last night on Raw, Ricochet challenged any member of The Hurt Business to a match with the stipulation that if he won, they’d leave him alone. To ensure he wouldn’t have to go 1 on 4 with the faction, Ricochet channeled Eddie Guerrero and pulled a fast one to earn the win.
Ricochet used a move made famous by WWE Hall of Famer Eddie Guerrero. Eddie would often fake getting hit by a chair while the ref has his back turned. When the official turns around he sees the chair in his opponent’s hand and is forced to disqualify him.
Today, Ricochet commented on Eddie Guerrero being an inspiration and why the tribute was important to him. You can see some of his Tweets below:
It’s no secret that Eddie Guerrero was an inspiration to me and SO MANY before and after me. So it was an honor to be able to pay homage to an all time great. 🙏🏽 #ThankYouEddie

We’ll see if last night’s angle leads to Ricochet adopting this gimmick moving forward or if it was a one-off for him. Most likely, it will just be the one time.
However, could we see a new direction for Ricochet now that the draft is concluded? Vince has been rumored to have given up on Ricochet. Could last night’s performance spark a new appreciation for the high flying superstar?
We’ll just have to wait and see.
