WWE star Ricochet has been forced to delete a tweet about former NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai after fans flocked to condemn his words.
The tweet in question came after WWE tweeted, asking fans to tag their favourite high-flyer in WWE.
Naturally, Ricochet threw his name into the hat, and fair enough really, but it was his following comments that upset a whole bunch of fans.
After a fan suggested that Io Shirai was WWE’s best high-flyer, Ricochet responded with the below, perhaps ill-judged and now deleted tweet.
“I’m not saying she’s not amazing. She 100% is. But I can do EVERYTHING she can, probably even better. She can’t do what I am capable of, maybe not even half.”
Now it’s one thing to have self-belief, it’s another to suggest a fellow wrestler only has half the talent that you have.
Ricochet appears to be getting some kind of push on WWE TV at the moment, even if that push has involved getting beaten up by Sheamus twice.
He’ll be treading carefully on social media for a while you’d think, because you never know what might lead to his next sudden burial.
