EVOLVE Wrestling has just announced via their Twitter account that Ricochet will no longer be performing for them at their March 15 show in Melrose, MA or the following night in Queens, NY as originally scheduled. Luckily, living charisma himself, Velveteen Dream, will be taking his place as the big NXT star. The ‘One and Only’ will, however, still be making an appearance at the events for meet & greets.
Breaking News….
Velveteen Dream will replace Ricochet at EVOLVE on March 15th in Melrose, MA and March 16th in Queens, NY.
Ricochet will still be at both events for Meet & Greets.

Suspiciously, this news comes right after Ricochet’s sudden main roster call-up to both Raw and SmackDown Live. On this week’s editions, he beat Bobby Lashley and Lio Rush in a tag match alongside Finn Bálor on the red brand then best Eric Young a day later.
The likely reasoning behind this decision is to distance the former NXT North American Champion from the black and yellow brand as well as the several indie promotions WWE has working relationships with. Crossover between talent is mainly kept to the NXT roster which lends more to the idea that these abrupt call-ups could be more permanent than the showcase many believed them to be.
Another thought could be to simply keep the new standout safe, only allowing him to wrestle within the confines of WWE. After all, it’s not like they can risk another key player finding himself on the shelf now, is it?
