A new Intercontinental Champion was crowned on tonight’s (March 4) episode of SmackDown.
In the opening match of tonight’s show, Sami Zayn defended the Intercontinental Championship against Ricochet in a match that was announced last week.
In the conclusion of the match, Johnny Knoxville came out and distracted Sami, allowing Ricochet to pin Zayn to capture the championship.
This means that Zayn’s title reign lasted 21 days (14 days recognised by WWE). You can keep track of all championship changes in WWE for 2022 here.
