Ring of Honor is returning to television production later this month. Now we know they will be doing so with a familiar face in charge of creative for the promotion.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that former head booker Delirious will be returning to the helm. This comes as a result of Marty Scurll being under investigation for allegations relating to the Speaking Out movement. Here is the quote:
“Hunter Johnston (Delirious) is back as the head of creative. Marty Scurll, who had been head booker, is technically on hiatus with no ROH responsibilities pending a human resources investigation of the claims made against him. Johnston has been the sole creative force as far assformatting, producing and organizing television since the investigation started.”
Scurll had not been in the position long before the pandemic began. The increased role was part of the pitch to get him to stay in Ring of Honor when his contract ended last year. The promotion hasn’t run a show since February 29 when Rush recaptured the world title.
Delirious started working as head booker for the promotion in 2010.
