Tony Khan finally made his HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT last night at the start of AEW Dynamite, and he’s only gone and bought Ring of Honor and all of its video libraries.
While many had guessed this was the announcement, very few people knew for sure. In fact, Fightful Select is reporting only a very close circle knew what the announcement was going to be ahead of time.
Not only that, but Fightful also reports talent who had signed on to do the Ring of Honor Supercard of Honor show on April 1 found out about Khan’s purchase of the promotion at exactly the same time as everyone else did.
So even though he had been backstage at AEW, even Ring of Honor Champion Jonathan Gresham was unaware the company had been sold.
In the same report, Fightful noted a number of different price points that had been speculated in terms of how much Khan had paid to buy Ring of Honor from Sinclair, but added they aren’t currently sure of exactly how much was paid.
$20 million, $40 million and $30 million for 50% of the company have all bee speculated.
