Road Dogg Details Billy Gunn’s WWE Raw Appearance Falling Through WWE

Road Dogg has provided an update as to the potential involvement of AEW’s Billy Gunn in the recent DX reunion on WWE Raw.

WWE reportedly reached out to AEW’s Daddy Ass, hoping to get him involved in the DX reunion, but ultimately he was not a part of the ceremony, with the DX crew reuniting to close out the October 10 episode of WWE Raw, minus the former “Mr Ass”.

Speaking on Oh You Didn’t Know, Road Dogg opened up about the situation with his former partner, including how Billy reacted to not being on the show.

Road Dogg said:

“It broke my heart, and I believe it broke his too. In all actuality, Hunter was not happy about it either. Shawn and X-Pac weren’t either. We wanted the band, all that we could get back together. Chyna is there in spirit. That didn’t happen.

“From what I understand, and I’m not in those inner circles anymore, and for my sanity rightfully so and thankful. I don’t know the exact reason, but I was told everything that we could do was done, and we couldn’t come together.

“During the day prior, I texted him, ‘Hey, are you going to be able to make it? Have you found out any answers yet?’ He said, ‘Yes, I’m in.’ I was like, ‘Oh my God, that’s awesome.’ Literally, before I landed at home, I found out he was not in.

“I texted him back and he wasn’t happy either. It just didn’t work, no matter what. I understand. Whatever. I understand we’re [AEW and WWE] not huge fans of each other from a business standpoint. It was a big deal, and I feel like he got ripped off and didn’t live it with us. I’m sorry for that. I know he is too,”

While Gunn was not part of the segment he was there in spirit, as Road Dogg turned the mic over to the audience so they could recite the part of the New Age Outlaws promo normally filled by Gunn.

Corey Graves also made reference to an absent member who “works in office supplies,” in a reference to Gunn’s “Scissor me Daddy Ass” catchphrase in AEW.

Billy Gunn and the Acclaimed are currently prevented from using the term ‘Scissor Me’ due to the trademark being owned by Smart Mark Sterling. The Acclaimed are set to fight for the trademark against Sterling’s clients Tony Nese and Josh Woods on AEW Rampage.
