WWE Hall of Famer Road Dogg (Brian James) has revealed that he’d be interested in a role with AEW.

James was released from his position as a WWE Performance Center coach and producer in January, during the first round of NXT cuts of 2022. The former Intercontinental Champion notably taught a promo and character class at the WWE PC prior to his departure.

Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, James noted that he’d love to work with AEW in the future, specifically on promos:

“I wanted to keep my relationship with (WWE) really good even if I went somewhere else to work. Which, I’d love to do that. I’d love to work with promo guys backstage at AEW because it’s just new talent — Well, half of them are NXT talent I’ve worked with in the past, but I would love to do something challenging, you know what I mean?”

When asked whether he’s been to any AEW shows since leaving WWE, James said:

“I have not been there at all. I was looking forward to the opportunity in Vegas, but I ended up canceling my show out there, so I didn’t end up going.”

William Regal, who left WWE in the same round of cuts as James, is currently signed to AEW and leads the Blackpool Combat Club faction, currently considting of Wheeler Yuta, Claudio Castagnoli, Bryan Danielson and AEW Interim World Champion Jon Moxley.
