Roderick Strong Requests WWE Release

Roderick Strong Requests WWE Release WWE

Roderick Strong is the sole remaining member of the Undisputed Era in WWE, but he may not be for too much longer.

Fightful Select (subscription required) is reporting that Roderick Strong has asked for his WWE release ‘multiple times’ over the last several months. The report notes that Strong has grown frustrated with many things over the past year within the company, and had requested his release, which has been denied by WWE.

NXT sources also indicated that Strong was pitched a name change, which he was said to oppose the idea of. There were many within the company that were surprised that Strong was not included in the April 29 round of NXT releases as he’d made it clear to WWE that he wanted out.

All of the other members of Undisputed Era (Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish) are in the Undisputed Elite stable together in AEW. Those that Fightful have spoken to on the WWE side say Strong has remained professional is his handling of the week-to-week creative.

WWE sources also claimed that they currently have no plans to release Strong, as he factors into their current creative plans.
